It’s great to see all the seabirds back again and none more than the Puffin. I just love these cute seabirds but they weren’t built for flying and when they do they have to fly into the wind to save their energy as it uses 80 percent of it to try to fly. When they do get into the air they have about 400 wing beats a minute. How remarkable is that and to think they can live up to 35 years of age?

The locals love them so much that we have a nickname for them and it’s a “Tommy Noddie” because of their head action as they walk, they are also called “Sea Parrots” because of their brightly coloured bill.

Anyway, I could talk about them all day so I have added a few pictures for you to enjoy.
