Hello, Serenity enthusiasts!

As we sail through the unpredictable British weather, it’s been a mixed bag of rain, fog, and the occasional glimpse of sunshine here at Serenity. While nearly all the seabirds are on their eggs, marking the beginning of an exciting season, the weather has been less cooperative, making us all yearn for those calm, sunny days.

One moment it’s a tranquil, sun-kissed afternoon, and the next, we’re enveloped in a thick fog or pelted with relentless rain. The cold winds on the water can be quite a surprise, especially as we approach June. It’s hard to believe that summer is just around the corner when we’re still bundling up in our warmest gear for our boat tours.

Despite the weather challenges, the activity around the Farnes is nothing short of spectacular. Nearly all the seabirds are on eggs now, and the islands are buzzing with life. It’s an exhilarating time for us and our guests, witnessing nature in all its raw beauty. Each tour brings new sights and experiences, making every trip unique and memorable.

Our sunset cruises, are a favorite of mine and among many, have faced their own set of hurdles. With only one truly good evening so far, we’ve had to cancel several cruises due to poor weather conditions. It’s disheartening, but we remain hopeful for better evenings ahead. There’s something magical about the sun setting over Bamburgh Castle as we head home, and we can’t wait to share more of these breathtaking moments with you on our social media places and of course here.

This year, we’ve welcomed some new crew members to the Serenity family, and their enthusiasm and passion for the job have been a tremendous asset. They’ve stepped up to the mark, making life easier for our skippers and enhancing the overall experience for our guests. Working with such a dedicated and spirited team is a pleasure, and we’re excited about the season ahead.

On a bittersweet note, we’ve bid farewell to a long-serving member of our booking office team. While we’ll miss her dearly, we understand her need to prioritize her family, and we wish her all the best for the future. Her absence is felt, but her contributions to Serenity will always be appreciated and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
