While on a trip the other day, we had just finished looking at the seals when all of a sudden I saw an Osprey but then all of a sudden we knew it was not an Osprey but a Red Kite.

Talk about being very excited was an understatement but it was not just me but all of our guests were hypa too. There was lots of wow’s as it flew over the top of the boat while being bombarded by gulls. One Greater Black Back Gull would not leave it alone at all and kept on attacking it for ages.

I later found out that it was only the 2nd Red Kite on the Farne Islands and when I told our guests they were as pleased as we were. Anyway enough waffle, here are some pictures for you, taken by my crewman “Andy”.
