Sunset Cruise

On Tuesday and Thursday evenings from May until September, departing from 7pm until 9 (ish!). Enjoy the incredible peace and tranquility of the Farne Islands during an evening cruise. See the wildlife basking in the evening light, watch the jumplings (guillemot chicks) take their leap of faith as they leave their nests. Fingers crossed for a beautiful sunset over Bamburgh Castle. This is a very popular trip for photographers as the Farne Islands bask in the warm light of the ‘golden hour’. A sunset cruise is wonderful way to end to a brilliant day on the Farne Islands. This tour takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and does not land on any of the islands.

Longstone Island

Experience the journey local heroine Grace Darling travelled in 1838 when she rescued survivors from the ship wreck, The Forfarshire. The historic and iconic Longstone Lighthouse dominates this island and is a great photographic subject. In the Autumn and Winter this is a great trip to view some of the 4,000 breeding seals of the Farne Islands. This tour takes approximately 2 hours allowing half hour landing on Longstone.

Adults: £13, Child*: £9, Under 4: Free

Whale Watching

We look to run these trips on an ad hoc basis in August & September depending on the number of sightings. The waters around the Farne Islands are known for minke whale, dolphins and porpoise. Humpback, sperm and orca have also been spotted in years gone by! This tour is approximately 3 hours – No landing.

Adults: £25, Child*: £15, Under 4: Free

Important Notes:

Child*: Aged 15 and under.

Times and frequencies may change at short notice. The final decision to land on any of the Farne Islands is at the boat masters discretion. The National Trust charge a landing fee on Inner Farne & Staple Island. National Trust members land free of charge on production of their membership cards.
